for life giving botanicals

Coconut

Coconut is the fruit of the coconut palm (Cocos nucifera). It’s used for its water, milk, oil, and meat. Coconuts have been grown in tropical regions for more than 4,500 years but recently increased in popularity for their flavor, culinary uses, and vast health benefits.

CBD

The cannabis plant comes in two main varieties: Cannabis Sativa and Cannabis Indica. Either subspecies contains over 100 chemical compounds (called cannabinoids), including CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). Marijuana derives from either variety of cannabis, but hemp only comes from the Cannabis Sativa plan. Hemp plants contain very little THC, the compound responsible for the psychoactive effects of cannabis. Instead, they contain a much higher concentration of CBD, the non-psychoactive compound in cannabis. Most of CBD products are sourced from hemp.

Galphimia glauca

Galphimia is a genus in the Malpighiaceae, a family of about 75 genera of flowering plants in the order Malpighiales; the name is an anagram of Malpighia. Galphimia comprises 26 species of large herbs, shrubs, and treelets. Twenty-two species occur in Mexico, one extending into Texas and one ranging to Nicaragua; four species occur in South America, south of the Amazon Basin. Galphimia gracilis is widely cultivated in warm regions throughout the world. Eight species are distinctive in that the petals become stiff and papery, and persist past the stage of fruit maturation.

Chamomile

Chamomile or camomile is the common name for several daisy-like plants of the family Asteraceae. Two of the species are commonly used to make herbal infusions for traditional medicine, and there is some evidence that chamomile has an effect on health. Chamomile’s anti-inflammatory properties are well known, making it good for treating anxiety and mild insomnia, but the same compounds responsible for this effect also help soothe your skin. Chamomile has shown antibacterial, antiviral, antioxidant and analgesic properties.

Ashwagandha

The Ashwagandha plant originates from India, where practitioners of Ayurvedic medicine hold it in high regard. Also known as “Indian ginseng,” the dried and crushed plant matter provides users with a calm feeling that soothes the nervous system while boosting energy. Ashwagandha is an integral part of Indian culture and has a 3,000-year legacy of use among the Indian people to relieve stress.

Lavender

Lavandula is a genus of 47 known species of flowering plants in the mint family, Lamiaceae. It is native to the Old World and is found in Cape Verde and the Canary Islands, and from Europe across to northern and eastern Africa, the Mediterranean, southwest Asia to southeast India. important health benefits of lavender include its ability to relieve stress, improve mood, promote restful sleep, lower skin irritation, prevent infections, reduce inflammation, eliminate dandruff, and soothe stomach bloating. The relaxing qualities of lavender, which come from its organic compounds and antioxidants, also help the heart by reducing blood pressure and easing the tension on blood vessels.

Valerian

Valerian is a perennial flowering plant native to Europe and Asia. In the summer when the mature plant may have a height of 1.5 metres, it bears sweetly scented pink or white flowers that attract many fly species, especially hoverflies of the genus Eristalis. It is consumed as food by the larvae of some Lepidoptera species, including the grey pug. Valerian helps because of its natural antispasmodic and relaxant effects. It can help to relax the muscles and suppress cramps. As well as easing cramps in other parts of the body, it can even benefit the very severe uterine contractions responsible for the agonizing pain so many women get during menstruation.

Kava Kava

Kava or kava kava is a crop of the Pacific Islands. The name kava is from Tongan and Marquesan, meaning ‘bitter’; other names for kava include ʻawa, ʻava, yaqona, sakau, seka, and malok or malogu. Kava is consumed for its sedating effects throughout the Pacific Ocean cultures of Polynesia, including Hawaii, Vanuatu, Melanesia, and some parts of Micronesia such as Palau. To a lesser extent, it is consumed in nations where it is exported as an herbal medicine. Kava kava is an herbal remedy that some people use to relieve stress and anxiety and boost sleep. This plant extract has a calming, euphoric effect that some people compare with that of alcohol.
